STORY STORY...

Around last week, some of my friends and I were having a conversation, and someone said, “The children of Israel were so rebellious, even after all the signs God showed them.”

That single statement led to a full blown argument. Soon enough, we had two sides.

Group A believed the Israelites were ungrateful, forgetful, and rebellious. Their argument was that God went above and beyond for them, yet they still refused to obey.

Group B came from another school of thought. Their point was simple. We are humans, and humans are wired to err. If our generation lived in those days, we would probably have done worse than the Israelites. According to them, the issue was not just seeing God’s power, but human programming.

As someone sitting on the fence, I could clearly see both sides, and honestly, they were both right.
Group A felt it was illogical for the Israelites to disobey after witnessing such mighty acts. They believed that if our generation experienced even half of those miracles, we would take God more seriously.

But then, aren’t we experiencing miracles every single day?

The real issue is that we are waiting for grand gestures. We want thunder, fire, loud signs, and God speaking audibly to us. Meanwhile, we ignore the small miracles that happen daily simply because they do not announce themselves.

Dearest reader, did you know that the moment the children of Israel stepped into Canaan, manna stopped? It shows that miracles are seasonal. They exist to serve God’s agenda, not to become permanent comforts.

So it is not that there are no miracles today like in the days of old. It is that we are not seeing in HD the billions of miracles we experience every day.

God does not just show Himself anyhow. He does so at the right time, with purpose. Your life has to align with His vision for you to experience those above and beyond kind of miracles.

Lastly, we are human. Forgetfulness is part of our nature. There are extraordinary things God has done in your life that you cannot even remember anymore. So before you judge the children of Israel, pause.

They only had earrings and still made a golden calf. Imagine if they had AI and modern technology like we do today. Common naaaa.
