Dearest reader, so I just finished this book and it was amazing, anyways I decided to share the review with you, tell me what you think?

                               ****

Read the book "Broken" by Fatima Bala for the second time and what do I have to say?

There are people, and then there is Ahmed Babangida 😭

My bubugaga argued that Fa’iza did not deserve Ahmed because she gave up on them that easily, and really I didn’t see it like that the first time I went through the book, hence the rereading. My girl fought the best she could o. There are certain things you do not fight. In as much as it may seem like she gave up easily, the possibility of things going in their favor at that point was less than 1 and that’s just heartbreaking. What’s there to fight?

Fa’iza was raised with structure, faith, fear of Allah, and a clear idea of what was right and wrong. Ahmed on the other hand was love in human form, reckless, intense, ready to bend rules for the sake of what he felt. Their love started innocently, then grew into something deep, consuming, and complicated. University, freedom, emotions, faith, guilt, desire, everything collided at once.

When reality hit, family, religion, consequences, Fa’iza chose what she knew would save her soul, even if it broke her heart. Nah, that wasn't weakness. It was survival, she had to survive the only way she knew how.

And when oga fought it, it took him 5 years and pure hard luck to get it. Five years of growth, regret, patience, and becoming the man who could finally have her.

For me, it’s grand to have someone fight for the both of you. Characters like Ahmed>>>>>

I would often joke that, ' two people who could not wait one year to get married were made to wait 5 years by Allah'. Truly, Allah is the best planner.

"Broken" is messy. It is painful. It is tender. It reminds you that love alone is not always enough, and that timing, faith, and obedience matter.

It also reminds you that what is meant for you will find you again, changed, refined, and ready.

That 5years waiting was worth it, waiting is hard, waiting is work, but the result is mahd.

One of the things I loved most in their interactions is the banters, and their inside jokes like "Insom Niac"

Again, they are people, and there's Ahmed Babangida!

This was a good read. A 1000/10 for me. So good yh.
