“The obstacle isn’t in the way, it is the way” ~ X
We like to get around problems. We try to fix things by avoiding them, by pretending they do not exist, or by wishing they would just disappear. We want the smooth road, the easy exit, the quick escape. But what if that is not the way forward at all? What if the very thing standing in front of you is not meant to be removed, but understood?
What if the challenge you are facing is not supposed to pass away, but you are the one meant to pass through it. Slowly. Honestly. With lessons in your hands and growth in your heart.
Some seasons refuse to move until they have done their work in us. This too shall not pass away until you go through it. Sit with that for a moment. We do not heal by running. We do not become stronger by avoiding discomfort. We fix things by facing them head on, by showing up even when we are scared, and by trusting that God is doing something deeper than what our eyes can see.
There is shaping in the resistance. And there is grace waiting on the other side of your obedience.
Dearest reader, if you are standing before something hard right now, do not rush past it. Ask what it is trying to teach you. Trust that God is with you in it and will walk you through it. You are not stuck. You are being prepared.
