“If your habits do not change, you will not have a new year, you will only have another year.” X
I have this little friend group chat and just this evening, we were all trying to figure out how to go about the hundred things we said we would do in the new year. As the conversation went on, we got to a point where we realised that most of our goals were just wishes.
Setting standards alone is not enough to achieve goals. It goes beyond saying “I want this” or “I want that.” That desire has to move from wishes to structure, then to strategy, and finally to habits.
Habits are the basics. They are the most atomic form of our lives. They are our routines. I read somewhere that habits are the smallest things that determine the quality of our lives.
If I make it a habit to smoke, I cannot live a healthy life over time. It is really that simple.
Dearest reader, the question is no longer who you would like to be, but what habits you need to cultivate and master to become that person.
If you do nothing differently, you will not get a different outcome.
