The Becoming...

“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that.” — Galatians 6:4

This scripture has been ringing in my head since yesterday. This thing called becoming...

***

Before now, whenever I attended conferences like Revamp Conference, I would go with my jotter and pen, determined to write down everything the speakers said.

But soon I realized something. I wasn’t actually learning. I was just copying words that didn’t change how I thought or lived. It was more of writing for the sake of writing.

Now, when I hear words, I don’t rush to jot them down. I try to understand them. I listen with my heart, not just my hand.

So when I heard the scripture above, I took time to read the whole chapter to really understand it. Because half knowledge doesn’t last. It fades with time.

We all want to become, to grow, to do more, to be more. But many times, we don’t explore who we are. We don’t ask questions. We don’t peel the layers of ourselves to see what’s truly inside.

Becoming is personal. It’s not a one-size-fits-all journey. I remember one of the speakers yesterday said, “Explore. Find yourself and what you’ll love to do for the next 5–10 years.”

That hit me. Because truly, the exploration is the becoming.

You don’t stumble into purpose. You find it as you explore, as you learn yourself, as you grow into who you were meant to be.

Explore. And then become.
