“You cannot have the best of both worlds”

You know how in movies and novels a character will try to act smart just to keep two tempting options at the same time. They feel on top of the world until everything goes south and they end up losing both.

Have you ever seen this before?

Think of characters like Devi from the series “Never Have I Ever” who tried dating two boys at once and ended up with nothing.

The truth is you cannot outsmart the game. The universe is wired to keep things balanced. You cannot be greedy without paying a price. That is why people say you cannot eat your cake and have it.

Even when options feel tempting, you still need to choose wisely. At the end of the day the only thing you truly control is your choice. The ripple effects and consequences are way beyond you.

That is how I recently found myself at a cross road that whispered the illusion that I could be smart enough to enjoy the best of both worlds. I almost believed it until it hit me that you cannot cheat nature. It is a universal principle. Things will definitely go south when you try to grab everything.

Dearest reader, many times we face these same dilemmas. Deep down we know the truth. It sits right on our tongue. Yet we choose to ignore it. We lie to ourselves and end up paying a higher price in the end.

The thing about greed is that it will always cost you more.
