What have you learnt?
"It’s only when you’ve learnt that you unlearn to be better. Once you haven’t learnt, it’s easier to learn" X.
Do you know how when you are oblivious to something, it’s easier not to be bothered by it? But the moment you know, you just know, and unlearning becomes a hassle, one that could have been avoided by not knowing in the first place.
There’s this thing my boss would often say. He’ll be like, “There are certain kinds of knowledge I do not want to have.” I used to laugh each time he said it, until one day he told me a story. He had seen a meme on someone’s status that used potholes as an analogy for something completely unrelated.
The description was funny but oddly vivid, so now every time he drives past a pothole, that meme comes to mind, and he bursts out laughing.
Dearest reader, sometimes ignorance truly is bliss. Knowing too much with an immature mind, or a heart not ready for such knowledge, can make the burden heavier than it needs to be. When it’s time to learn, it will come easily. Rather than learn immaturely and struggle to unlearn later, it’s wiser to wait until you’re ready, and then learn when you can.
