WOULD YOU CHOOSE YOU?
I’ve been watching this really wild series, YOU, where the main character is some kind of twisted psycho.
This guy? He would literally kill for the people he loves, no hesitation, no second thought. I even started calling him a serial killer in my head because, mehn, he does it too well. The way he cleans up and covers his tracks? Scary and impressive at the same time.
Now here’s the crazy part: all he ever wanted from his partners was understanding. He wanted them to believe that every terrible thing he did, every crime, every body he buried, was “for them.” To protect them. You know, yada yada, love excuses everything.
But of course, nobody ever got it. I mean, logically, who can really understand psychotic killing in the name of love?
Then plot twist, he finally meets his match. Someone just as capable. Someone who would kill for him. And suddenly, he’s horrified. Like, bro, what’s the problem? Isn’t this exactly what you’ve been giving out? Why is it different now that it’s coming back to you?
It made me think, sometimes, we hand out treatment, words, or attitudes we would never want to receive. Yet somehow, we expect life to hand us something gentler in return.
Same way I feel these two characters deserve each other, is the same way we all deserve the energy we give out.
Dearest reader, remember: Do unto others what you’d want them to do unto you. Before you speak, act, or decide, ask yourself, if the roles were reversed, would you be happy to receive this?
Would you choose a "you" ?
