THE GIFT OF PEOPLE.




"The best gift you get from does older than you, is having a better perspective to how life works", X.

When I thank God for the gift of men, I thank God twice for the kind of adults I have in my space. For I'm no doubt blessed to have people who not just give me instructions, but rather a better perspective to life via their experiences. 

Older people giving you insight on major things they've experienced, is everything priceless. Now, mind you, this isn't so you can religiously follow in their footsteps, and run from their missteps. Instead, it is that you take in all that data -- their failures, success, and everything in between, and make out your own lessons from it.

I hope you don't take for granted the privilege of having access to people who has gone before you. They don't necessarily have to be older in age, they could be older in experience, in skill, and in knowledge. 

Dearest reader, in the words of Sir Isaac Newton, "If I have seen further than other men, it's because I stood in the shoulder of giants".

Access is a chance to grow exponentially, and, stand out. You must learn to embrace it, and redefine the raw data you're given.

TEAM WORK

It can be quite frustrating when a collective effort results in only one person receiving all the praise. Even if my contribution is just 1%, it shouldn’t be overlooked. You never know how these small efforts can make a significant difference. My bubugaga is back from school, and today we did a lot of tidying up. It’s amazing how I suddenly find the energy to work when she's around, despite my usual laziness. After completing so much work, we took a break—we were honestly worn out. Fast forward to the end of the day: everyone applauded her for a job well done, as though it was solely her effort. It felt off because I felt I deserved some recognition too—it was teamwork, after all. So, the point is, you never know how hurtful it can be when someone's effort goes unacknowledged. There are days when my arms are too heavy to hold a pen, my brain too disorganized to put a sentence together, my thoughts an unending swirl of emotions.
