Life is Hard, Go Deal With It


The first content I ever wrote when I started writing every day was titled Life is hard, go deal with it.

I was in a bad place, my heart was broken, I could not think straight. I had prayed, studied, and waited for an admission that never arrived.

The optimist in me died, and I saw clearly that truly life is hard.

After crying my eyes out, I picked up a pen and a book and poured out my heart. I was upset, upset at the universe, upset at my ill luck, and mostly upset at God.

Where did I go wrong?

That was my first reality check, my first you could do everything right and your heart will still break, my first life nuh really send your papa moment.

Looking back now, I realize it was a necessary evil, I had to fail that time.

Dearest reader, sometimes our worst seasons are there to ensure we learn, we become, and we grow. It may seem unfair at that moment, but it does not really get better, instead, you get better at handling the fistful of life constantly thrown your way.

Life is hard, go deal with it.

TEAM WORK

It can be quite frustrating when a collective effort results in only one person receiving all the praise. Even if my contribution is just 1%, it shouldn’t be overlooked. You never know how these small efforts can make a significant difference. My bubugaga is back from school, and today we did a lot of tidying up. It’s amazing how I suddenly find the energy to work when she's around, despite my usual laziness. After completing so much work, we took a break—we were honestly worn out. Fast forward to the end of the day: everyone applauded her for a job well done, as though it was solely her effort. It felt off because I felt I deserved some recognition too—it was teamwork, after all. So, the point is, you never know how hurtful it can be when someone's effort goes unacknowledged. There are days when my arms are too heavy to hold a pen, my brain too disorganized to put a sentence together, my thoughts an unending swirl of emotions.
