Loving the Unlovable

"It is very very easy to love the lovable" ~ Pastor Kenny.

God is love, and as an extension of Him, we ought to share His nature with humanity, to love all and not judge. But you will agree with me that there are people who are just difficult to love, people who test or rather tempt the nature of God in us.

I feel like when we love only those who are easy to love, we do not truly love. It is like helping someone because you want something in return, or being nice to someone who was nice to you. That is not love, it is a transaction, you give as much as you get.

I once read that to know if you truly love someone, try loving them when they are down, depressed, grieving, or sad. People are usually difficult at their low points. They can be unlovable, and at times, even irritating in those moments.

But the love of God is the even though, regardless, upon still kind. It endures despite all the shades a person can show.

Dearest reader, only God can love at all times, in every season, unconditionally, unyieldingly, and regardless. But as His children, we can try. At least, be kind even to those who give us absolutely nothing good in return. How about that?
