CHRONICLES OF LADY AVA: “Waste of Die”



Ava can be so blunt, ehn. I remember one time I was feeling suicidal. I was so depressed and exhausted with everything. You know that moment when you're absolutely fed up and just feel like giving up?

In that state, Ava came to me with her usual sarcastic face and said, “Shey you know that if you die now, it’d be a waste of die? You never see anything, and you wan die? Don’t you realize this is the smallest of the many wahalas you’ll still face?”

It was so ridiculous that I genuinely laughed for the first time in what felt like forever. Like, what’s “waste of die” please? But yeah, I’m still here, so I obviously didn’t go through with it, and I owe it to Ava’s hilarious outburst.

But one thing stuck with me: it only gets harder as you climb. Now, whenever I look back at what almost pushed me over the edge, I just smile. Omor, that thing don turn minor. I’ve faced worse since then.

Dearest reader, Feeling tired? Stressed? Calm down. Pressure still dey front. Don’t give up yet. It would truly be a waste of give up, wallahi.

P.S. We all need an Ava in our lives, don’t you think?

TEAM WORK

It can be quite frustrating when a collective effort results in only one person receiving all the praise. Even if my contribution is just 1%, it shouldn’t be overlooked. You never know how these small efforts can make a significant difference. My bubugaga is back from school, and today we did a lot of tidying up. It’s amazing how I suddenly find the energy to work when she's around, despite my usual laziness. After completing so much work, we took a break—we were honestly worn out. Fast forward to the end of the day: everyone applauded her for a job well done, as though it was solely her effort. It felt off because I felt I deserved some recognition too—it was teamwork, after all. So, the point is, you never know how hurtful it can be when someone's effort goes unacknowledged.
