CHRONICLES OF LADY AVA: SNOOZE BUTTON
If you know Lady Ava then you know multiple alarms. This babe literally runs her life by alarms, and it's crazy because she has this one rule: "Never dismiss my alarm. If it disturbs you, snooze it."
For instance, when her wake-up alarm rings, instead of jumping up immediately, she’ll just snooze it and say that the extra 10 to 20 minutes sleep is what she needs to properly start her day.
Sometimes she’ll even have like 3 alarms lined up back to back, reminding her about the same thing, and she’ll keep snoozing until she finally gets the job done. Crazy much, right?
But looking at it from Ava’s lens, I think I get it.
Do you notice that sometimes when your alarm rings in the morning, and you force yourself to jump up immediately, you’re still weak and disoriented? You move around with sleepy eyes and a heavy head. You’re up, yes, but your body hasn’t caught up with your mind.
Now imagine hitting the snooze button and slipping in 20 more minutes. You give your body a moment to reset. And when you finally rise, there’s this sharpness. A clarity. A sense of “I have to move now,” not from pressure, but from preparedness.
You start your day with better focus, more calm, and just enough urgency to push you forward.
Dearest reader, what if the snooze button isn’t such a bad thing? What if it isnt really procrastination? but a soft act of self-compassion. Like a quiet way of saying, “Let me gather myself, then I’ll face the world.”
What do you think?
