"Don't wait for perfect timing, it's already late." ~ X
Last week, I told myself I was going to start a personal project I've been putting off for weeks, this week Monday. I said I'd ride the Monday morning euphoria and let that energy push me to begin.
So, I waited for Monday to come. The perfect time, right?
Long story short, Monday came and went. I didn’t even attempt to start. Then I was like, okay okay, let’s try Tuesday.
Yesterday was Tuesday, and it was almost a crappy day. Boom. Task postponed.
Now here we are on Wednesday, and there’s this silent nudge whispering, “Let’s just start next week.”
Alas, I realised the truth in what’s often said, there’s no perfect time. There’s only the time you choose to make for it. I was deluding myself, procrastinating something important and time-sensitive. Annoying much?
Funny enough, I could stay on this procrastination boat until the very last minute [my so-called superpower], but deep down I know it’s wrong.
I read somewhere that perfect behaviour is a scam. For real, you don’t need to wait for the time to be a round figure. It may never feel perfect, and you know that.
Dearest reader, I hope we both find the strength to just start already, and that the licence we give to procrastination betrays us.
Mind you, there’s a necessary waiting for perfect timing, and there’s the unnecessary one. Make sure you know which one you’re experiencing[i already know my own is unnecessary 🤧]
