WHY GATEKEEP?

I read somewhere that being materialistic isn't about lusting after material things, but rather allowing the things we own to own us, that is, letting them have some form of control over us.

Gatekeeping is a sibling of materialism, The need to ensure that what comes from you stays with you. We often do it, guarding what is ours. But this not only allows what we own to have a hold on us, it can also hinder the massive growth or positive expansion of that very thing.

I believe gatekeeping stems from a lack mentality. So, even if you have a lot, once that mindset is present, it becomes a hassle to share. And that’s wild,why gatekeep when you have more than enough?

Dearest reader, when a candle lights other candles, it loses nothing. In the same way, it won’t cost you much to share your light, your ideas, your insights. Just like the backward rule suggests: the harder you try to gatekeep, the easier it slips through your fingers.
