When It Feels Like Nothing Is Working




Sometimes, not seeing progress can be very demotivating. That’s how I abandoned my daily Proverbs group for the longest time, and only recently did I go back to it.

You know, it hurts when it feels like you’re pouring into silence, like you’re not getting the result you want. In fact, a lack of results can make you feel really discouraged.

I don’t know if you’ve ever been there, driving a course you’re so passionate about, yet having nothing to show for it.

But let me share with you one of the finest words I heard during that season of almost giving up on my Proverbs group:

"Silence doesn’t mean your efforts are wasted. When you’re planting seeds, remember that seeds don’t always sprout immediately."

And again, I was reminded of the power of compounding.

Dearest reader, life is tough, lol. But jokes aside, the reality of things is often far from the idea of it. Passion is cheap and easy, but doing the real work? That one is insane.

One thing that helped me this season was asking myself: "What’s the essence of this group?"

And when I could answer honestly, I realised it was never about me. The vision is bigger than me. Like they say, a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step.

Remember, the overtime impact of compounding is mahd!!!

It can be quite frustrating when a collective effort results in only one person receiving all the praise. Even if my contribution is just 1%, it shouldn’t be overlooked. You never know how these small efforts can make a significant difference. My bubugaga is back from school, and today we did a lot of tidying up. "NOT ADMITTED"

She clicks on the Whatsapp group chat,  Yet another "Congratulations, you've been admitted", with her heart heavy, she angrily leaves the group, minimize out of Whatsapp. There she is patiently waiting for chrome to load her admission status, this is the third time today she's logging into her jamb caps.  Her eyes almost eager with hope, she muttered under her breath, "God please" The network server makes matter worst by going sluggishly as she clickes "Regular admission status" she closes her eyes, hoping against hope, praying fervently, that this time it'd be different.  But it's not, because as she opens her eyes slowly, she's greeted with an arrogantly boldly written, "NOT ADMITTED", screaming at her.
