THE "WHY?"




So lately I haven’t been active in my daily Proverbs group or even talking about it as much as I used to. Well, this was because participation in the group dropped dramatically.

However, I had to remind myself again of the essence of the group. The reason it was created in the first place, which led me to actively participate again.

As usual, I dropped the verse that stood out for me in today's chapter and also posted it on my WhatsApp status. A friend who was also a part of my daily Proverbs group and was actively participating said he read the chapter and didn’t notice that particular verse while reading earlier.

And that was it for me. The grand epiphany that yes, the essence of the group is valid.

You know the way a set of people would read one thing and it would make sense to each of them differently and individually? That was the essence of this group, to bring people together who studied Proverbs chapter by chapter, building consistency and discovering fresh insights you might have missed that grabbed another person’s attention.

This reminder of the essence was a profound moment for me. And I realized that nothing keeps you going as much as remembering why you do what you do.

Dearest reader, one thing I’ve learned recently is that the level of zeal you have at the beginning of a project dwindles over time, but what helps? Reminding yourself of the essence, the why.

TEAM WORK

It can be quite frustrating when a collective effort results in only one person receiving all the praise. Even if my contribution is just 1%, it shouldn’t be overlooked. You never know how these small efforts can make a significant difference. My bubugaga is back from school, and today we did a lot of tidying up. It’s amazing how I suddenly find the energy to work when she's around, despite my usual laziness. After completing so much work, we took a break—we were honestly worn out. Fast forward to the end of the day: everyone applauded her for a job well done, as though it was solely her effort. It felt off because I felt I deserved some recognition too—it was teamwork, after all. So, the point is, you never know how hurtful it can be when someone's effort goes unacknowledged.
