The Trick Time Plays on Us

There’s something about the present and the future. When we look at the present, it feels like nothing is changing or everything is just the same. But when we think back to how things used to be, we realise so much has changed, and quite dramatically too.

I like to call that the trick time plays on us. The small things we do every day may seem little or even pointless, but over time, when we look back, their impact is truly surprising. That’s the point of the quote above.

When we’re building, when we’re climbing, it can feel like we’re not making any progress. Like our lives are stuck, and all our efforts are in vain. But remember, things are hardly ever what they seem.

Dearest reader, keep moving, keep growing, keep learning. Like the saying goes, the journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step. In time, everything will make sense.

TEAM WORK

It can be quite frustrating when a collective effort results in only one person receiving all the praise. Even if my contribution is just 1%, it shouldn’t be overlooked. You never know how these small efforts can make a significant difference. My bubugaga is back from school, and today we did a lot of tidying up. It’s amazing how I suddenly find the energy to work when she's around, despite my usual laziness. After completing so much work, we took a break—we were honestly worn out. Fast forward to the end of the day: everyone applauded her for a job well done, as though it was solely her effort. It felt off because I felt I deserved some recognition too—it was teamwork, after all. So, the point is, you never know how hurtful it can be when someone's effort goes unacknowledged.
