SELF-ABUSE
It's one thing to tell yourself the truth, and it's entirely another to do what I call self-abuse. Yes, we are often too quick to rain insults on ourselves over the little things we do wrong.
We beat ourselves up over realities that are beyond our control. Like, bro, it has happened, yes, you messed up, but that's still not enough to treat yourself with harsh words.
A side effect of constantly scolding yourself harshly whenever you make a mistake is that, over time, it will result in self-loathing.
Wonder why you can't find one thing to appreciate about yourself? Here's why: you've called yourself foolish so often that all you now see is folly.
Dearest reader, you should be your biggest hype person. In a world where there's always someone better, someone smarter, someone whose life seems more in order, and so on, you'll end up hating yourself if you keep tearing yourself down for the littlest mistake.
Do you feel like an absolute mess? Impending doom? Chaos personified?
Just fight the urge to use abusive words on yourself, and show yourself a little kindness and grace. After all, we were all made perfectly imperfect.
