HOW DO YOU KNOW?
We often draw conclusions we have no business making. Tell me, why on earth would you judge a person's personality or character without truly knowing them?
There are only a few things that piss me off so badly, and one of them is passing judgment on someone's character based solely on what you've been told.
In my opinion (and I might be wrong), it's utterly bizarre to form opinions about someone you don't have a relationship with, just because of someone else's words.
If you've experienced me and you pass judgment on my character, that’s feedback I can consider and reflect on. But to speak from a place of complete ignorance and start saying things? That's a whole other level of wrong.
I know I’m not the only one who gets really offended over such misconceptions. So, I’m writing on behalf of everyone who's tired of being judged based on hearsay, and to address those who keep exhibiting this uncool behavior.
Dearest reader, if you must pass judgment, whether out of concern or not, please take the time to actually know the person. Experience them for yourself before drawing any conclusions.
I personally choose to approach people with a blank slate, regardless of what I’ve heard about them. You should try it too.
The point is: get to know people. Don’t go around spreading half-truths. It can be incredibly hurtful, especially when it’s not true. And even if it is, what’s the basis of your claim or judgment? Let me guess… “Someone told you”?
Doesn’t that sound silly?
Anyways, let’s be guided (sighs in “lemme nuh remove someone’s teeth”)
