HAPPY EASTER

Have you noticed that when we preach Christ, we often skip over His love and His kingdom, yet we're too quick to condemn… to draw the line between sin and righteousness?

This approach can make it feel like God's kingdom is all about following rules, or like it's reserved for a perfect set of people. But none of us is perfect, yet in our imperfection, we are still deeply loved by God.

None of us is worthy of the kind of love God has for us. Therefore, when you preach Christ, even to those you feel are less righteous than you, never condemn. Because truly, are you any better?

Like Pastor Kelly puts it, "Once they are saved, they will, over time, let go of their bad habits/behaviors. So don't condemn these behaviors when preaching Christ to them."

God’s love is the only love that is truly unconditional. Humans love for reasons, valid ones, but God's love for His people has absolutely nothing to do with who they are, how they look, or what they do. He shows us His love whether we deserve it or not.

So instead of telling someone that lying or stealing will send them to hell, tell them about the love of God demonstrated on the cross, His faithfulness, mercy, and goodness.

Yes, we all agree that hell exists, but that’s not the gospel! It shouldn’t be the focus of the message of Christ.

Dearest reader, as we celebrate Easter, I have a word for you:

That thing you want so badly, or that thing you’ve been working on, God will show up for you. How do I know this?
He didn’t withhold His beloved Son from you, what then would He not freely give you?

And remember: do not condemn. Preach love. Christ is love.
