GIVE IT TIME!

"A lot of things are purely healed by time. Rushing through many things will keep you from learning the lessons you're supposed to learn in life."
~ Noon

I used to do this thing where, once I had a bad experience, I wanted to get over it immediately. I wanted to quickly take the L and move on. But over time, I’ve come to learn that healing is not something you rush. It’s a process.

Healing is a journey. If you try to move on too quickly, without fully learning what you’re meant to, life will make sure that lesson repeats itself, over and over again.

You’ll miss out on a lot. You’ll bleed on people who never cut you. And you’ll keep reliving the same cycle.

So give it time. Be patient.

Dearest reader, the idea that patience is a virtue is not a cliché.
Does it hurt really bad right now? Give it time.

Whenever I fall into one of those really dark episodes of depression, my coach would say, "Don’t be in a hurry to leave this state." At first, it made no sense.

I’m at my lowest, and you want me to stay there for a while? Doing what exactly, while life keeps moving?

But that’s where the mentality was flawed. Trust me, every time I’ve ever rushed through a season of depression, I ended up back there, this time even worse, and in no time at all.

Life lessons aren't meant to be hurried.
When the lessons come, take a deep breath and let them teach you.

Like I often say,
"When you hit rock bottom, don’t try to climb out immediately. Sit there, take a nap. Exercise patience. Give it time."
