JUST BEFORE YOU PASS JUDGEMENT.
"When you see someone reach an end that you do not like, don't be quick to judge or get angry. Understand the underlying pattern and ensure you create a new one." — IAMPojo
Like I often say, never assume it can never be you because the way it will be you will leave you shocktalized. You won’t believe it is happening to you.
This often leads to justification where we find every possible means to defend our actions and make ourselves feel better.
So just like the axiom above states, hold off judgment or criticism when it comes to something you have yet to understand the pattern behind.
In junior secondary school, we were taught a topic in Basic Science called Family Traits. Before diving into it, our teacher said, "By the end of this topic, you'll understand why people from a certain family act the same way."
It was a fun lesson and by the end of it, we turned it into a joke. When we saw siblings behaving in a particular way, we would shout, "Family trait!" If someone explained, "In my house, this is how we do things," we would respond the same way "Family trait!"
People do not just act the way they do. There is often a pattern that governs it. Sometimes, it stems from their roots or environment. That is why it is risky to claim you will never act like your parents or siblings in certain ways. You might replicate it unless you identify the established pattern and intentionally create a new one.
Dearest reader, for the 101st time please never say never. It always comes back to bite. Instead, seek to understand why people act the way they do, dissect the pattern, and create something new.
