How You Respond Under Pressure Defines You

I once read that you can only say you truly know someone if you've seen them act under pressure or when money is involved.

And I can't help but agree. Just as things aren't always what they seem, people aren’t either. Certain situations bring out sides of them you never knew existed.

Looks can be deceptive, and people can master pretense so well that you'll never see through them, until you witness how they respond under pressure or when money comes into play.

If you want to recognize an unkind person, watch how they react under pressure. You might be surprised.

The level of maturity it takes to remain yourself, the sweet, loving, kind person everyone knows, even when under pressure is remarkable. Even I haven’t mastered it yet (lol).

There's a particular staff member in my office whom I deeply admire. She's pretty and kind, but what truly stands out about her is her calmness. No matter the chaos in the office, she remains soft-spoken and composed.

Now, that’s someone who is genuinely calm.

Dearest reader, beyond the impressions we give, how we react under pressure reveals who we truly are.

TEAM WORK

It can be quite frustrating when a collective effort results in only one person receiving all the praise. Even if my contribution is just 1%, it shouldn’t be overlooked. You never know how these small efforts can make a significant difference. My bubugaga is back from school, and today we did a lot of tidying up. It’s amazing how I suddenly find the energy to work when she's around, despite my usual laziness. After completing so much work, we took a break—we were honestly worn out. Fast forward to the end of the day: everyone applauded her for a job well done, as though it was solely her effort. It felt off because I felt I deserved some recognition too—it was teamwork, after all. So, the point is, you never know how hurtful it can be when someone's effort goes unacknowledged.
