CHRONICLES OF LADY AVA: BEING ANGRY WITHOUT BEING MEAN
"My being angry with you doesn't mean I have to be mean to you." — Odogwu Paranran
While watching the trending Odogwu movie that’s everywhere right now, one statement stood out for me, the one above. It was grand! I literally had to scream!
For real, it's the level of maturity for me. To be mad and yet still treat others with love and care. Have you seen some people when they're mad? They can say and do all sorts of mean things just because they’re hurting.
While this may be valid, it’s what Ava would call the highest form of childishness. Lady Ava is someone who can be hurting and still help the very person who hurt her. She’ll be mad and still be kind.
Her axiom is that if you love someone, no amount of hurt should make you be mean to them, if you truly did love them.
Because being happy, sad, or mad often happens in fleeting moments, and how you respond in these moments says a lot about you and the depth of your feelings.
Dearest reader, it’s not about whether you’re mad at someone or not, it’s about how you treat them regardless.
