THE THING WITH CREATIVITY.

"Creativity is nothing new. Creativity and inspiration are drawn from your spirit; just feed it with the right information." — ID Cabasa

I get a lot of thumbs up for my writing skills, but really, it's nothing special. It's unique and dope, so much so that at times, I'm really proud of myself. But I also know that I didn't invent writing, and there are various factors that make it happen.

My coach would say writing is a lifestyle, like breathing in and out. It has become so natural that I don’t have to struggle to produce, all things being equal. You wouldn't believe it, but I get writer’s block more often than normal.

There are days my brain goes on a two-week vacation without my consent, yet I still write because I've created a system that keeps the goal alive regardless.

People often ask, "Favour, where do you get your inspiration from?" Woo! I can’t pinpoint exactly where it comes from, but I know that what I consume is what I produce. So, I'm mindful of what I let in because it governs what I give out.

So you see, it's not really rocket science. Some days, all I need is one line. I'll pace the room back and forth, and once I get a sentence, that is it. The rest of the piece just flows as effortlessly as breathing.

Dearest reader, if you ever struggle with creativity, just feed your mind with the right kind of stuff and watch it flow with ease. And when I say ease, I don’t mean it won’t be challenging at times. We are designed in such a unique way and are often oblivious to what we carry.

What is creativity that you would struggle with it, you, who, according to Psalm 82:6, are a god?

Consume right and simply express it. Art is all about expression.
