PREPARING FOR OPPORTUNITIES.
In the words of Mr. Okwanyionu, "It's not a 'if we get to the river, we'll cross it.' There must be a bridge or canoe, otherwise you won't be able to cross even if you get to the river."
Failing to prepare for what is to come is actually preparing to fail because, without preparation, the opportunities we seek might arrive, yet we'll lose them to those who are prepared.
Early last year, I had a couple of opportunities I could only dream of. But guess what? I couldn't sustain or even access them. Why? I was not prepared or adequate enough.
The presence of opportunities doesn't automatically make you capable of handling them. Though there's the concept of "on-the-job training," you've got to have a basic understanding to navigate through.
Time and seasons happen to all men equally. What you make of opportunities is a direct result of how prepared you are for them.
So no, I don't believe in getting to the river before you start thinking about how to cross it. We must seek to know whether the river has a bridge or a boat that will allow us to cross or think of a way to build one ourselves.
Dearest reader, nothing is coincidental. Everything that happens is designed to happen the way it did. So it becomes foolish to leave decisions and preparation to fate or luck in a world that is not random.
