Hello there,

Lately, I've been getting a lot of comments like, "Favour, your stomach is big," and similar remarks. While it's annoying, I also know that I don't have a flat tummy like most girls. At first, I didn’t let it bother me, but I decided to do something about it before it started to get to me (lol).

The plan was to exercise because the foodie in me absolutely refuses to do the silly thing of starving or reducing food intake.

This led me to YouTube, where I downloaded some workout videos for people with big tummies and decided to give it a shot this morning. Mehn, I fit no do! It was a 7-step routine, and halfway through trying to replicate what the YouTuber was seemingly doing so effortlessly, I almost died.

I just had to give up before I ended up killing myself over pot belly. Las las, it’s a sign of healthy living (since I'm eating well, lol).

Dearest reader, I might give it another try tomorrow (emphasis on might), even if I only manage 2 or 3 routines. But here's the point: those 7-step routines looked pretty simple when done by the expert (YouTuber), but when I tried to replicate them as an amateur, it felt like mission impossible.

So, largely, ability is hinged on who you are. I couldn’t do the 7-step routine because I’m an amateur who has hardly ever intentionally exercised before today. That’s who I am. Meanwhile, the YouTuber is an expert who has probably spent a great deal of her life or time engaging in exercise.

The gap between what you can do and what you can’t is shaped by who you are, which is a reflection of your consistent habits.
