CHRONICLES OF LADY AVA: Dreams the Size of the Sun
One phenomenal thing about Lady Ava is how she always has a plan. She's undoubtedly one of the most ambitious teenagers I know. And don't even get me started on her zeal, hers burns brighter than the sun.
However, after suffering a failure so impactful it scattered like a loud crash, she stopped dreaming. For someone with dreams bigger than our entire solar system, you'd be shocked at how life humbled her.
How many of us can relate to having a specific way we envisioned our lives? Remember how the younger versions of us were dreamers and believers?
To an extent, I feel one of the gifts adulthood stole from many of us is the ability to dream. This loss is evident in her, especially because of how fiercely she once dreamt.
She had a goal, a success so grand that even your own dreams might feel threatened. When they said, "dream big," Ava took it personally. She even aspired to become a cardio-god like Cristina Yang from Grey's Anatomy. But when life happened, she found herself praying that even a fishery degree would suffice.
So imagine my surprise when, years later, I encountered this pessimistic version of Lady Ava—someone quick to settle for the bare minimum. I couldn't believe it was the same person who once proudly declared, "I've got dreams the size of the sun, and we all know the sun is 109 times the size of the Earth."
Dearest reader, a lot of us are like Lady Ava, clutching hearts that barely beat, healing from the impact of broken dreams, and merely surviving because we've realized life might not unfold as we once envisioned.
But what if I told you it’s still possible? That you could have the life, the career, and even the love you once dreamed of? That broken dreams can be stitched back together, and you can always return to your drawing board to create something extraordinary?
Life happens—it always will. But the question remains: what are you going to make of it?
