Wisdom in Silence

"Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues." Proverbs 17:28.

Have you ever regretted saying something in the heat of the moment? The thing about Words is that once spoken cannot be taken back, and sometimes, silence speaks louder than any words ever could.

Yes we are judged by our intentions, but nobody is telepathic and intentions are not written on the forehead! So yes, we're judged by what we say, what we do and how we act by humans, that's why King Solomon mentioned in the above text that fools seem wise when they keep shut.

I think the point he's driving is that we ought to learn to keep shut, sometimes just listen! This is particularly hard for defensive people, they're often in an hurry to display their folly. At the end of the day, you'll be glad you listened before getting raged, because anger springs up from ignorance.

Don't react rashly, don't react without listening, hold thy tongue, it is a sign of wisdom. By listening instead of reacting impulsively, we gain clarity, avoid misunderstandings, and show respect for others.

Dearest reader,bWhen emotions run high, take a moment to breathe before responding. And then focus on understanding the other person rather than preparing your reply. Sometimes, no response is the best response.

This week, challenge yourself to practice the art of listening and silence. Watch how it transforms your conversations and relationship!
