THE THING ABOUT PURPOSE
"The thing about purpose is that you must serve, you must obey instructions. It's in the place of obeying instructions that you find purpose," — Mr. Pojo.
I find it amusing when I see people trying to figure out this thing called purpose. I've never really tried to figure it out myself. Instead, I've always been sure of what I wanted and trusted that, on my path to attaining it, purpose would find me, as long as I stayed in alignment with God.
I've come to learn that service is one way to the top. If you're not serving, you won't grow, it's that simple. In the place of serving, walking with a superior authority, and submitting your will, purpose will emerge.
So, it's not about going out to look for purpose. I don't believe in steps to find purpose or in the "Look within yourself" concept to discover it. What I do believe is that purpose will find you when you're ready for it.
Being ready for is simply about serving. It's about being on the pathway of purpose.
The goal, therefore, shifts from asking, "What is my purpose?" to asking, "Where can I serve?"
I like to think of service as laying down or letting go of your will to follow a course. It may demand your life (smiles), but in the end, purpose will find you, and you'll be absolutely sure which way to go.
Dearest reader, endeavor to serve! In the words of King Solomon, submit yourself to instructions!
