Embracing Tomorrow

"Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose."

The realization that the past is truly gone can be incredibly painful. But there’s nothing you can do to change it. The past is unalterable, it has happened, and we must move forward. Of course, moving forward doesn't mean sweeping the pain under the carpet as society often normalizes; it means healing.

I get genuinely upset when I see movies where, for instance, a family loses a child and, in their grief, neglect the surviving sibling, leaving them emotionally scarred. I can’t help but think, “Are you people normal?”

A poet once said, “When your world burns to ashes, look at the wreckage and create something beautiful.” Yes, it hurt. Yes, it almost destroyed you. But it’s in the past now. So, what’s next? What remains?

I believe the lesson in losing a loved one is to cherish the next person even more. The lesson in failure is not to stop trying but to keep going again and again. The lesson in heartbreak is to gather what’s left and rise. As OJ fondly says, “It is what it is.” There’s nothing you can do to change the past.

Dearest reader, you have a choice: live in the pain of yesterday, which does nothing to improve the situation, or embrace the new opportunities God has given you. These are chances to heal, grow, and love again.

In the wreckage lies the key to moving forward. Don’t overstay in your hurt—heal, because tomorrow is yours to win!
