Dearest reader, guess what?
We’ll be exploring the chronicles of Lady Ava every weekend from now on. Buckle your seatbelt and get ready for an awesome ride!

Quick introduction:
Lady Ava is an average Nigerian teenage girl who’s seeking her identity and figuring out what she’s made of. She’s fierce, a little lost, and full of crazy experiences.

Her name fascinates me because it’s Hebrew. In Hebrew, the name Ava means Life. So, she’s literally Lady Life. Isn’t that dope?

In the words of Miss Intentional, "Every smart lady is a princess." Given her intellect, Lady Ava qualifies for the title of princess. However, there’s something about people who excel at something, they often let it get to their heads.

So yes, Lady Ava is also very proud. And what do they say about pride again? Of course, it goes before a fall.

One time, she participated in a school contest. Considering her opponents no match for her, she didn’t bother preparing. It was like one of those SS3 versus JSS3 contests, and naturally, you’d think the older and more experienced group would win, right? That’s exactly what Lady Ava thought too.

Well, at the end of the contest, the universe taught her a lesson: it doesn’t favor just anyone but those who intentionally prepare. Lady Ava, being ill-prepared, failed woefully. It was the most embarrassing moment she’d ever faced. For someone so respected and held in high esteem, being defeated by people she regarded as no match was a huge blow.

In the midst of the embarrassment, she remembered Georgia Miller’s words: "A woman ill-prepared is a woman set up for failure." At that moment, she promised herself she would never go into any battle unprepared and that she would never lose again.

Spoiler alert: She lost a ton of battles, over and over again!

But we’ll explore all of them as we dive deeper into her experiences.

TEAM WORK

It can be quite frustrating when a collective effort results in only one person receiving all the praise. Even if my contribution is just 1%, it shouldn’t be overlooked. You never know how these small efforts can make a significant difference. My bubugaga is back from school, and today we did a lot of tidying up. It’s amazing how I suddenly find the energy to work when she's around, despite my usual laziness. After completing so much work, we took a break—we were honestly worn out. Fast forward to the end of the day: everyone applauded her for a job well done, as though it was solely her effort. It felt off because I felt I deserved some recognition too—it was teamwork, after all. So, the point is, you never know how hurtful it can be when someone's effort goes unacknowledged.
