IT CAN ALWAYS BE WORSE. (2)

To have been seriously sick to the point of battling for my life in the past days has humbled me and made me realize how fragile human life can be. It may seem like nothing to everyone around, but trust me, it's far from nothing to the one facing it.

Not until I got my test results today did I realize how much I tend to trivialize my health. Based on the test results, I should have been hospitalized by now. However, I managed to get myself to the laboratory, leaving the lab technician shocked.

We often overlook symptoms and only respond to life-threatening situations, which is a terrible habit. Taking things for granted is second nature to us; we forget that things can always go wrong, get worse, or turn terribly grim.

Whenever you find yourself taking even the smallest things for granted, remember that every year, 2 million people die of dehydration. It doesn't matter whether the cup is half-full or half-empty—if there's water in the cup, drink it and stop complaining. Remember that you'll survive. Remember that things can always be worse. Remember that the human heart beats approximately 4,000 times per hour, and each pulse, each throb, each palpitation is a trophy engraved with the words: "You're still alive." So act like it and be grateful for it.

Dearest reader, let this serve as a reminder that life is fragile, and every moment is a gift. No matter how tough it gets, choose gratitude over complaints, and cherish the simple miracles around you. Your survival is a testament to resilience. So, as long as your heart beats, embrace each day with purpose and hope, because it can always be worse.
