A Woman Ill-Prepared

In the words of Georgia Miller, "A woman ill-prepared is a woman set up for failure."

If there’s one lesson I’ve been learning a lot lately, it’s the importance of preparing for what is to come. I love to plan, as it provides a foundation that guides my next steps.

This week, I took the initiative to reach out to my friends to start planning for the upcoming year. Of course, I already have my goals written down, but I believe that we are the average of the people closest to us. So, if I’m to do well, my circle must also do well.

The wise King Solomon understood this, which is why he advised in Proverbs 13:20: "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm."

While I may not be able to change my circle instantly, I do know I can nurture it so that it becomes a positive influence—one that I’d be proud to let shape me.

It's not enough to have a wise plan; will your circle support your goals, or will they sabotage them? Do you have people who will encourage your growth by their own example, or those who will give you excuses and make you complacent?

Dearest reader, being ill-prepared isn’t just about failing to make plans. If you don’t consider key factors like your associations and environment, you could be setting yourself up for failure. Don’t be a woman ill-prepared!
