WHY SCHOOL?
We know that school isn't a scam, yet when asked why we want to attend, many of us find ourselves tongue-tied, unable to provide a solid reason for going to school.
What do you think? Why should we go to school?
I know a girl named Prayer.
---
Prayer logs in and out of her JAMB CAPS* an average of twice a day. Even though it breaks her spirit time and again, she clings to the hope that one day, she'll see the outcome she's been waiting for.
At this point, seeing how tenacious she is, waiting for this so-called admission status to change, I'm compelled to ask why she wants it so earnestly. "What's in school for you?"
Of course, she gave the usual vague response: "I want to become something in life," and the like. But you can still achieve all that outside of school, can't you? So it got me thinking: Why school?
Is it because we feel the need to stay on schedule with the rest of the world? Or is it the sense of fulfillment that comes with earning a degree? Maybe it’s the desire to prove your worth? Or is it the need to understand how life works?
Personally, I feel it's the desire to experience a life beyond our current reality that drives us to chase it.
Dearest reader, what do you think? Why do we give our all in the pursuit of admission? Why did you, or why will you, want to attend a higher institution?
I'd honestly love to hear your opinion.
