EMBRACE AND RE-DO LIFE (EARL).

We are all made perfectly imperfect; we come into this world heavily flawed—more flawed than heavy metal in its ore state. However, the beauty of it all lies in our ability to redo.

As the saying goes, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But you surely cannot make lemonade if you don’t first accept the bitter lemon you’ve been given and try to create something great from it.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word "embrace" means to take up especially readily or gladly. This suggests that we ought to quit complaining or playing the pity card. Instead, we should readily take up our cross and make lemonade out of it (smiles).

There isn’t one unpleasant situation that can’t be redone better. The thing about today is that there’s always tomorrow, and with it comes a chance to redo life continually until we get it right.

Have you ever tried fixing something that was frustrating? The other day, I was helping an aunt upgrade an app. I tried and tried, followed all the instructions, and still, it wasn’t working—at least not in the way I expected it to. It got to a point where I had to let go of my idea of how it should work and accept that it didn’t work that way. And only then was I able to succeed.

Dearest reader, two things stand out. First, we must give up our ideal mental picture of how things should go and accept that they may be flawed. Then, redefine, improve, and make the most of it. We tend to spend too much time complaining about a system not working the way we expect it to, but are our expectations what govern its design?

Of course not. Accept and embrace the design, then reinvent it in a way that’s unique to you.
