TRUTH IN LIES.
"In every lie or joke, there's an atom of truth." — X.
I argue that a lie isn't the opposite of the truth but a form of it. As my coach used to say, a lie is a fractured truth.
Let's imagine a drop of urine finds its way into a big bottle of Coke. Would it be possible to drink from such a bottle? Of course not. That tiny drop of urine makes it unsafe for drinking, though it isn't a noticeable amount. This can be likened to the idea of a fractured truth. When you look closely, it makes a lie seem less evil since it can be anything or so random.
So, what we call a lie is actually true, but only to an extent. Beyond the layers of falsehood lies a bit or an atom of truth.
I'm often told I take things too seriously. Sadly, I do, because I believe there's no smoke without fire. Jokes, silly comments, and lies are not born from thin air. They are often instigated by the truth, or what is assumed to be the truth.
Dear reader, our thoughts and words are aligned. A joke might genuinely be a joke and still carry an underlying atom of truth.
