ROCK BOTTOM.
You know that moment when you can sense doom creeping in, but instead of facing it, you shut your eyes, block your nose, and pray it’s not what you think it is?
That’s the pathway to hitting rock bottom. Trust me, it’s the scariest place there is—I know because I often find myself there. My coach would say I enjoy learning the hard way, but who does that? Who sees fire and audaciously walks right into it? Apparently, I do.
The thing about hitting rock bottom is that until everything starts falling apart, you blindly believe it’s not really a big deal and you'll be fine after a good nap. You convince yourself to ignore the obvious. Crazy, right?
Although I’m infamous for hitting rock bottom and going through hell to climb back up, I never fully learn my lesson. I tend to relapse every now and then, like a drug addict, which makes absolutely no sense.
We often walk around like ticking time bombs, ready to explode at any moment because we neglect the symptoms and underestimate how easy it is to flip.
Dearest reader, have you hit rock bottom before? What was your strategy for climbing back up?
One advice, if you ever hit rock bottom, take a nap, because the journey back up is bloody.
