YOU CAN DO IT!

You can do it, we know! But can you get it done?

It's ironic how we can easily mistake doing something for getting it done. Everywhere you go, there are motivational quotes screaming the "You can do it" idea in volume, and it gets people excited.

In the words of Mr. Pojo, "You can keep doing it and never get it done. Getting it done opens you up to another spiral level to DO ANOTHER THING." So, we can see that it isn't about just doing it; how can you get it done without just doing it? Is doing it enough?

Therefore, it shouldn't be all that exciting to be told you can do it. It's no news since all along we have had in us what it takes to do it, but just doing it doesn't get it done.

I have this writing project I had to do some time ago. Trust me, I've been coming up with legitimate reasons for my inability to have done it ever since. But come to think of it o, shey i can do it? I'm a writer; I have everything it takes to do this writing, but I'm yet to do it.

Getting it done requires a certain ME, and unless I intentionally become this ME, I will continue to procrastinate. No amount of "You can do it" will work because I know I can in the first place.

Dearest reader, doing it and getting it done are entirely different things. Doing it is the motivational side, and that won't get it done. To get it done, there are certain factors you have to put in place first which may vary from person to person.

Merry Monday🙂
