HARDWIRED (2).

The fact that some people are still in the stone age is so funny. I love engaging my parents; they can be so entertaining.

We were all watching TV, African Magic actually, and a female character wanted a divorce. My sister and I were okay with the idea, but my parents wasnt saying she had no right to divorce(We forget for a moment that it was a movie😂).

Guyyyyyyyyyys, I literally laughed until I started crying when they explained how back in the days it was so. Omor, things dey! Thank God for civilization.

The point is, as a feminist, I could have been mad, but I wasn’t. I realized that they weren't crazy for seeing things the way they did, just as I wasn't crazy for being a feminist. To have been mad would have meant wanting to be understood rather than to understand.

And like my coach would say, to understand is better than to be understood.
So, yeah, I understood where they were coming from and it all made sense, though it was quite funny.

Dearest reader, my parents' upbringing and years of experience have shaped what they see as acceptable, and that’s it. Let's learn to understand; we are all hardwired to see things differently, the next person's design isn't same as yours.
