EMBRACING ALL OF IT.




I read somewhere that there are three things we must embrace: Choices, Chances, and Consequences. I believe that life is fair, and we get what we deserve and that actions have consequences.

As Newton said in his third law of motion, for every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction. Similarly, consequences may apply to the choices we make.

Do you realize that for everything you did, it was possible to have done something else? That's the thing with choice; you always have them. We are always picking one over a plethora of options.

Just like when my bedtime alarm rings, I either choose to dismiss it and go to bed or snooze and continue doing whatever I was doing. While one of these choices leads me to wake up on time, the other leads to a terrible morning as I run helter-skelter to make up for waking late.

To an extent, I don't believe in people saying they didn't have a choice because I feel we are always given the chance to choose. There's always the chance to pick, make your choice, and at the end of the day, you'll have to live with the consequences.

Dearest reader, when we accept that life is fair, it'll be easier to embrace and accept our choices, chances, and consequences. Know ye that there will always be these three entities.

TEAM WORK

It can be quite frustrating when a collective effort results in only one person receiving all the praise. Even if my contribution is just 1%, it shouldn’t be overlooked. You never know how these small efforts can make a significant difference. My bubugaga is back from school, and today we did a lot of tidying up. It’s amazing how I suddenly find the energy to work when she's around, despite my usual laziness. After completing so much work, we took a break—we were honestly worn out. Fast forward to the end of the day: everyone applauded her for a job well done, as though it was solely her effort. It felt off because I felt I deserved some recognition too—it was teamwork, after all. So, the point is, you never know how hurtful it can be when someone's effort goes unacknowledged.
