DO YOU SEE IT?

As the saying goes, there's no smoke without fire.

When people make allegations against you that don't make any sense, do you look into them, shove them away, or get pissed off?

Let's use three characters to get my point across: X, Y, and Z.

All three characters have been repeatedly told they are rude by different people individually. Let's say they all took it differently. X gets really mad about why almost everyone seems to misunderstand her and tag her as rude. She believes nobody can understand her. Y just ignores the comments with the mindset that people will always say whatever they want. Meanwhile, Z tries to figure out why she gets that comment often and sees it from others' perspectives.

The intent of an action is more important than the action itself, but intent is in the heart of a person. We can't see intent, can we? So you may intend one thing, but it can be interpreted as something else (only you know your intentions).

Now, all three characters reacted differently, and it's totally understandable and relatable (I've been at all three stages), yet one of the characters tried to see things differently. And that's huge; it is actually taking a step from your view of things and looking at it from the complainer's view, and figuring out why they see what you don't.

The reason for looking at the other person's view or trying to see what the person sees is not necessarily because the person is right. The person could be very wrong or could have totally misunderstood you. Yet, no matter how wrong the person is, there are factors that led them to such conclusions. And that's what you must seek to understand.

What are the things people saw that made them say all three characters were rude? Even though they didn't intend to be rude, they did come off as rude to be called rude, right? So, therefore, how does one come off as what one didn't intend to?

Dearest reader, question everything! See what the accuser is seeing, or else you will rot in your own view. Nobody wears their heart on their sleeve; people can't tell your intentions, so please do well to see what they see and work on it if need be.
