INFLUENCED PREFERENCES.
Growing up, I loved chewing gum and enjoyed my sister's company. However, she hated gum, so I was forced to stop chewing it in her presence. Over time, this led me to develop a strong aversion to chewing gum.
I never imagined I could give up something I enjoyed so often because of association. Like it or not, we are influenced by our relationships and interactions. I not only gave up chewing gum, but I also become irritated whenever someone chews gum near me. Sometimes, I even feel an irrational urge to lash out at them.
How did I reach this point? Have you ever developed a dislike for something you once loved because of someone else?
People influence each other profoundly. As humans, we tend to subconsciously emulate the behaviors we are exposed to, along with adopting similar perspectives. If you spend too much time with a certain group, like robbers, you may start to see life from their point of view.
