LIKE A TEAR DROP ON AN OCEAN.
"Just imagine how little human life is, yet we dress up and act as though it isn't all vain", Kingatha.
My sister lost a friend today, the friend in question died of something my sister was also guilty of, and as I watched her cry, it just broke my heart more. The thought that this could've been my sister was so heart aching.
The word Hebrew "Hevel" was later translated to 'Vanity', 'Meaningless'. But, in actually sense, the word 'Hevel' means, "like an enigma". So when King Solomon said life is Hevel, he was telling us about how enigmatic life is.
An enigma is incomprehensible, a puzzle, something you cannot fully grasp. Life is often compared to a tiny tear drop falling into a big ocean. Though, the tear drop might seem small next to the vast ocean, when we look closely, we see it's part of something much bigger.
Just like a tear drop disappears into the ocean, life's complexities blend into a big mix of uncertainty. Every day, we face lots of different experiences and choices, each one like a small drop in the big ocean of life. Even though we might feel small, the things we do still has it ripple effect.
Dearest reader, we might seem insignificant in the grand scheme of things, and the harder we try to make sense of this enigma called life, the further way it is from comprehension. My sister wasn't able to fathom why her friend had died and she was alive whereas they both did same thing.
