"IF" YOU CAN'T DEAL...

"Manage what you can't change or walk away" - Pojo

Some people engage in the foolish practice of selecting individuals and imposing their desires on them, rather than choosing those who align with their preferences or whom they can adapt to or influence positively. It's frustrating.

Today, I was really upset after hearing about a man who married a woman from a different tribe and expected her to instantly conform to his culture. According to the story, he forcefully imposed his wishes on her, making her uncomfortable.

I was particularly infuriated because I personally knew this couple. What's even more annoying is how unapologetic the man was about his behavior. Why choose someone you can't cope with on the long run? If tribal differences were an issue, why not marry within your own tribe?

Certain trait are nearly impossible to change, and it becomes even harder when you're aggressively pressured to do so. For this couple, tribal differences were significant, and they could have been avoided if the man had chosen someone more compatible or had been patient in teaching his culture.

Dear reader, let's not be blinded by whatsoever when making choices. Be mindful of flaws you can't manage or tolerate. If you can't handle it, walk away and spare yourself unnecessary stress.
