THE FAULT IN OURSELVES.

"The pain was always there, pulling me inside of myself, demanding to be felt", Hazel Grace.

The only non-Chimamanda's novel I have read more than once is, 'The Fault in Our Stars', though I don't believe the fault is in our stars but rather in ourselves.

Reading, 'The Fault In Our Stars', for the 100 times(Hyperbole) during the bus drive few months back from Enugu to Calabar( For my brother's wedding), I fell in love with the character Hazel Grace again.

I know many people haven't seen the movie or read the novel so I have no intention of boring you dearest reader with the details.

The reason I love the book is because of how it captures reality. It is so real that I cry each time I read it. It as though I could feel the chronic pain caused by cancer in these two kids my age, what amazes me most his how the characters portrays pain.

Pain demands to be felt, if it doesn't hurt then it isn't pain. Now, when you wake up to certain misfortune I need you to remember that they are individuals out there praying seriously just to see the next day, individuals praying to breathe with their nostrils and not some tubes, individuals pain has turned into something or someone they can't even recognize yet breathing with your nostrils is something you do effortlessly right?

The fault is therefore not in our stars but in our selves, we neglect the important things and chase fantasies. In the words of King Solomon, "A breathing dog is better than a dead lion". As long as you are still alive, there's the hope for you.

Pain is inevitable yet don't become your problem. Most times we are so consumed by our problems and we tend to become the problem. There's need for pain to surface, that's why it is expressed but you'll get through it surely.

Dearest reader, Know that the human heart beats approximately four thousand times per hour, each pulse, each throb, each palpitation is a trophy engraved with the words, “YOU ARE STILL ALIVE” act like it and be grateful.
