IGNORANCE IS BLISS.

There's this placid comfort that comes with not knowing. A poet once wrote, "The weight of carrying things unsaid is far greater than the heart pretending to fly when it knows it can only fall".

As a sad/cancer movie enthusiast, one thing I've noticed is that the knowledge of the fact they are going to die, makes them die quicker. I sort of have this feeling that if a person is unaware of the danger ahead they fare better.

Ignorance comes in different forms. It may necessarily not be the absolute absence of knowledge, it could be misinterpreted of knowledge, unfamiliarity with knowledge or inability to accept factual reality that doesn't sit well with our fantasy.

I have a friend who complained of certain symptoms, it was strange and given my little knowledge of medicine as my sister's personal nurse, I knew his symptoms weren't one to sweep under the carpet. But he refused to go for a test since it'd lead to a diagnosis.

Therefore ignorance truly is bliss, the reassurance and peace in not knowing is unmatched, yet the risk isn't worth it. For my friend he didn't want to confirm a reality that doesn't suit his fantasy, it wouldn't accept his symptoms and thought that by so doing they'd disappear.

Dearest reader, as sweet as oblivion may seem, it's not worth the risk. Don't be trapped in it, seeks the whys, explore boundaries and gain closure.
