AS THEY ARE...

"Don't try to change people, you just love them the way they are", X.

Truly loving someone is loving them regardless of their flaw. There are certain behaviors I cannot stand yet, when these are displayed by people I care about, I endeavor to handle them with love.

I'm not perfect myself yet God loves me regardless of my bad character, so in dealing with people I love, I try to reciprocate God's love. Honestly, it's not easy, often I feel the urge to walk away from certain friendships but then again, these people also put up with my excesses at times.

People are definitely going to exhibit habits that annoy you, but you can't go around trying to change who they are. You just love them as they come and hope your influence via loving, fine-tone their character.

Dearest reader, trying to make people into the ideal people we want won't work. Yet loving them regardless of their flaws and fault lines will work the magic, hence, obeying Alan Watt's Backward Rule.
