HOW FAR DOES YOUR LOVE GO?
It is my claim that love is a service, it is going all out for something or someone without having an ulterior motive or wanting something back in return.
It is how frivolous we take our claim of loving God that amazes me. If we're asked, "Do you love God?", literally everybody will say 'Yes' yet when truly investigated you'd see our love is just within the surface.
As humans, it our nature to be selfish, self-centered and self-seeking but as gods according to Psalm 82:6, it's not about ourselves anymore, we can't afford to love only those who love us and help those who help us.
Doing something for someone because you are expecting something back in return, is a transaction not love. Love is selfless, 1 Corithians 13 proves this.
When you love a thing, you give it your best, pour out your treasures and heart without being cautious of if it will love you back.
In this recent time, young people see love as a transaction, a give-and-take situation, where you invest because you want profit. They care because they want to be cared for, but really love is going miles, climbing mountains, going down stream to do the unthinkable for someone, no question asked, not bothered if they'll do same for you.
How far does the love you profess go? Does it go beyond the surface or is it just an illusion?
Merry Sunday
